A MIND MARKED BY GOD

"People are busy trying to make sure they don't receive the mark of 666, yet they ignore the true source of protection - Me! Why don't they seek to be marked by Me instead? Why don't they give their attention to receiving My seal?"

When God was giving me this message to share, He reminded me to teach His people about the need to develop individual relationships with Him. The truth is if we want to truly live a life marked by God, we must understand the importance of not relying on parents', and people's relationship with Him to help us thrive. Associating with others who have a relationship with God does not guarantee us anything, unless we seek our own relationship with Him. You must make a decision to be marked yourself; know God for yourself; desire and seek Him and grow in His word for yourself. Mother, father, sister, brother, wife, husband, cousin, best-friend, pastor, prophet, inspiration, influencer, etc will not save you. Only God can - and you need to go to Him directly through the One and Only path (Jesus Christ - John 14:6).

In committing ourselves in a relationship with God, He doesn't want only part of us, but all of us. I mean after-all, which man would want to share His girl with others, they want everything, exclusive to themselves.

God looks to mark the minds, bodies, souls, and spirits of His people at an individual level, along with the Church as a whole.

When God marks His people, He marks them for protection and preservation from destruction. He marks those with a heart posture of distaste for evil. He protects and preserves those who are ready to weep and sigh (groan) in prayer against the evil they see on the earth (Ezekiel 9:4).

Below, I have shared 6 characteristics the Holy Spirit revealed to me which a mind that is marked by God should resemble.

1. TRUSTING GOD ALONE

Isaiah 26:3 NKJV

"You keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts you.

2. DISCIPLINED THOUGHTS

2 Corinthians 10:5 NKJV

"Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,"

3. HEAVEN-BOUND

Colossians 3:2 NIV

"Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things."

4. SINGLE-MINDED (DOUBTLESS)

James 1:6-8* NLT

"But when you ask Him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.

"A double minded man is unstable in all his ways." (v.8 KJV)

5. MEDITATIONS

Philippians 4:8 NKJV

"Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things."

Our minds should not be meditating on nature, the sun, yoga, the moon, and the universe (unless we are admiring them in recognition of God's beauty as a Creator), but rather on the WORD OF GOD which is the only source where we can find the truth reflected in the above scripture.

We must be intentional about making sure our minds are dwelling and focusing only on that which reflects the mind of God and His Spirit.

6. RENEWED

Romans 12:2 NIV

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Our minds must be transformed everyday to know the will of God at all times.

The will which is good, pleasing and perfect is one, not three separate things. The perfect will of God is that which is good in His sight and pleasing unto Him. Our minds must be aligned with God's mind every day in order to be or remain aware of His will.

Overall, a mind marked by God is a mind that reflects the mind of Jesus Christ in all things.
