Welcome back family!
This week we are going to share some points on what a soul marked by God should (or aim to) look like. In the context of this blog, we are referring to the soul as the part of us which encompass our will, intellect and emotions. Our soul affects our emotional and spiritual appetite. The soul is the force that drives us as individuals. From it flows our desires ("I want this", "I feel that", "I prefer this", "I think that", etc). If we could put it in simpler words, we can almost say that our souls, if not placed under the control of the Spirit of God, is the remote control of our lives, it is the decision making engine of every human being who is not under authority.
I have only 3 points to share with you on how we can do out best to ensure that our souls remain aligned to the will of God as those who belong to Him and are marked by Him.
1.YIELDED & SUBMITTED
Luke 22:42
“Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”

A soul that is marked by God prioritizes the will of God above its own. A submitted and yielded soul exchanges earthly pleasures and passions in order to acquire heavenly passions. It accepts and lives according to the plans of God even when it is painful. That soul chooses purpose over pleasure; purpose over comfort; purpose over popularity and purpose over fleshly satisfaction.
2.TRUTH DIET
A soul that is marked by God delights in the truth of God and received it however it comes because it is a double edged sword (Hebrews 4:12)
A soul marked by God does not seek its own recipes and versions of God's word to satisfy its own desires, it doesn't twist the word to conform to its personal understanding, instead it submits to the whole truth by remaining opened to be both blessed and corrected by God's word.
2 Timothy 4:3 AMP
"For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instruction [that challenges them with God’s truth]; but wanting to have their ears tickled [with something pleasing], they will accumulate for themselves [many] teachers [one after another, chosen] to satisfy their own desires and to support the errors they hold"
A soul that is nourished by God is a soul which partakes of the word of God as its daily bread (Matthew 4:4; Ezekiel 2:8). A soul marked by God values the words from God's mouth above those from the mouths of mankind.

3.WORSHIP & REVERENCE
Psalm 103:1
Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
When we command our souls to worship and bless God - we are asking something that is normally (regularly) selfish to set aside its desires, to bow down and exalt God. When we worship God with our souls, we redirect our attention from ourselves and place the focus on God because we acknowledge that He is worthy to be praised even when our own desires are inconvenienced.
The battle of giving our souls over to God is a daily one.Essentially, it is a journey and a daily decision we must make to die to ourselves so that Christ may live through us. I pray for you that you would be empowered by the Spirit of God to win that battle every day of your life in Jesus Name! It is a journey that we cannot go through by ourselves, but requires prayer, and accountability by a spirit-filled community who can help us stay in alignment with God's word.
I encourage you close this blog by joining us here for a powerful prayer session for the soul as we submit our will, emotions and intellect to God.
Stay tuned for next week's blog on "A Spirit Marked By God".
Blessings to you Apple of God's Eye!
