Outsmart the Deceiver

Genesis 3:1-6 NKJV

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field

which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman,

“Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden;

but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said,

‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’

”Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.

For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened,

and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food,

that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise,

she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

There’s a reason why Jesus instructed us to be as cunning as a serpent as we are living in this world. We fight against an enemy that will do anything to deceive God’s people and lead them astray from the path and direction God gave them. God wants us to be even more cunning than the enemy so that when he tries to come against our minds, faith, and lives, we can not only withstand but crush him by the wisdom of God.

How can we outsmart the devil through wisdom? If the foundation of wisdom is to fear God, then that means we need to hold the words God has spoken to us to the highest standard regardless of the situations we find ourselves in. Remember the word of God concerning you, whether He spoke it through the Bible, a dream, a prophet, or to you specifically, and do not depart from it.

ANY voice that comes to speak to you contrary to what God spoke to you has no other assignment than to:

• Deceive you

• Steal from you

• Destroy you

• Kill you

So when chaos comes, or some challenges arise and you start to doubt and question what you “THOUGHT” God told you, and whether it was truly God, remember what God said in the time of stillness.

THERE WAS NO CONFUSION BECAUSE GOD SPOKE IN A STILL SMALL VOICE AND YOU HEARD AND UNDERSTOOD IT CLEARLY. Whatever He said then, He has not changed His mind just because chaos has risen or there has been a shift in your environment. Remind yourself of the thing God told you in your heart which brought you peace and confidence and rest in that moment.

Do not allow the enemy to deceive you and make you doubt your identity, your calling, your gifting, your divine assignments, your vision, and your ability to hear and commune with God. Stand firm in the first voice that spoke to you - the thing God told you which was clear and without confusion.

The moment confusion and thoughts of double-mindedness begin to creep in, rebuke Satan and his agents that are being assigned to lead your mind astray. Open your mouth and speak out against the enemy's voice of deceit and declare God's word in the very moments you find yourself doubting.

Prayer/Declaration:

God, I thank You that You are not a God of confusion, You are faithful to Your words, and Your promises over my life and the instructions You’ve given me stand firm. Satan, by the authority of Jesus Christ my Lord I rebuke you and your deceitful suggestions. Get your claws off my mind, and let the voices of your demonic agents be silenced over my mind in Jesus' Name! Today and forever, I choose to meditate on the things that a true and that is the uncontaminated word of God, written and spoken. I reject every thought pattern and every mindset which is not in alignment with God's will over my life. I command my soul and my mind to submit to the voice of God alone. Holy Spirit, I ask You to fill my mind and expose every lie of the enemy regarding my destiny. Help me to remain steadfast to God's promises over my life. In Jesus' Name, I declare that it is so! Amen and Amen!

When you operate this way, you are like a sniper ready to cast down every thought and imagination that even attempts to exalt itself above the Name of Jesus Christ and the word of God in your life. You destroy the weapon of the enemy before it can get a chance to prosper in your life.

Yes, the devil is cunning, but remember, you have been equipped by God to be even more cunning than him. From where you are seated (in heavenly places with Christ), every serpent is under your feet, so learn to crush them when they try to approach or bite you. Take up the word of God as your weapon and outsmart the deceiver.
