RESTING IN DISOBEDIENCE

As I studied Jonah chapter 1 an early morning, God began revealing something to me from verse 1through 6.

The Lord gave this message to Jonah son of Amittai:

2 “Get up and go to the great city of Nineveh. Announce my judgment against it because I have seen how wicked its people are.” 3 But Jonah got up and went in the opposite direction to get away from the Lord.

He went down to the port of Joppa, where he found a ship leaving for Tarshish. He bought a ticket and went on board, hoping to escape from the Lord by sailing to Tarshish. 4 But the Lord hurled a powerful wind over the sea, causing a violent storm that threatened to break the ship apart.5 Fearing for their lives, the desperate sailors shouted to their gods for help and threw the cargo overboard to lighten the ship.But all this time Jonah was sound asleep down in the hold. 6 So the captain went down after him. “How can you sleep at a time like this?” he shouted. “Get up and pray to your God! Maybe He will pay attention to us and spare our lives.”

"Many are sleeping in their disobedience to My voice and My call without realizing that they have placed many lives in danger through their disobedience - WAKE THEM UP!"

As the Holy Spirit placed this statement on my spirit, He began to help me understand that many people are being destroyed around us physically and spiritually - and our disobedience to God's direction is what's causing the problem. If we would only turn away from our stubborn hearts and prideful mentality to recognize that the call upon our lives is beyond us - but rather about the lives in need of being protected, rescued, restored, and saved, we would submit, obey and go when God sends us. When we place our (selves) will before God's will, we can find ourselves dwelling in a place of comfort to the point where we don't recognize the negative impact we are having on others.

"Many are sleeping in their disobedience to My voice and My call without realizing that they have placed many lives in danger through their disobedience - WAKE THEM UP!"

The storm the people encountered on the ship to Tarshish was a storm that God Himself who holds power over the winds and waves sent, and Jonah was sleeping, snoring, and relaxing while others were crying out for their lives. Jonah made up his mind that he was not going to do life God's way.

As though he gave himself breath, as though he formed his own life, as though he called himself form his mother's womb, as though he was the potter of his own life. He wanted to ignore the truth that there is a God greater than him whose will is superior to men's will.

The peace Jonah had to sleep in that storm while others were in danger is not a peace God provided. There's a distorted peace the devil can also give you when you are walking in disobedience. The purpose of this peace is to deceive you into thinking that "everything will be okay" in the wrong path that you are walking.

I pray for anyone the devil is deceiving in such manner, that God would send a divine captain to come and awaken your spirit from that sweet deceiving slumber in Jesus Name! I pray that you won't even allow it to get to the point where God has to isolate you into a place of discipline to recognize that He is God and follow your call. I pray that the spirit of obedience to God's voice , word and direction would rest upon you to lead you into the path of life - to make you a blessing to many rather than a hazard to be avoided . May you be quick to obeying the voice of Jehovah and extremely slow to disobeying Him. Even when you want to disobey, may the Holy Spirit quickly remind you and awaken you to the impact of your disobedience.

Wake up! Awaken! Son of God, Daughter of Zion! Take your place of obedience in God's kingdom and impact lives for the better! In Jesus Name, Yes & Amen!

Peace is our portion as children of God, but when that peace is being experienced in collaboration to a life of rebellion against the word and voice of God, we should fear for our lives and run to God's feet to seek where we are going wrong, and beg Him for alignment. That is why I personally can't thank God enough for the gift of conviction through the Holy Spirit.

Honestly y'all, if the Holy Spirit was not present in my life to convict, correct, discipline, direct, and guide me, I can say confidently my life would be in absolute shambles today. The voice that places us into alignment to God's path is a gift and He should not be taken for granted.

So sis/bro wherever you are, if you know you are in a season of resting in disobedience, for your sake, and for the sake of those attached to your destiny, I beg you wake up from that sleep because it is a sleep of death. Take this letter as God's personal warning to you asking you to WAKE UP from the rest of disobedience. Feel free to ask Jonah yourself, but there can never be any regret to doing it God's way.
