A Poem of Prophetic Reflection by Minister Elcie Jean Baptiste
*PSALM 78:5-7

I hear their voices,
Generations after generations
Chanting: “that’s my grandma”
“That’s my great grandma”
“That’s my great great grandma”
And on we go.
She made mistakes and she wasn’t perfect, but she set forth to follow Jesus and never looked back.
She set the path straight for us.
She created a new trail for us.
She laboured for our sake.
She sought the face of God day & night.
She resisted evil & wickedness.
She lived fully committed to God.
She was led by the Spirit of God.
She left a great inheritance for us.
She paid the price of warfare for us.
She built an altar of prayer for us.
She drew us out of poverty & lack.
She sacrificed to lay a foundation of righteousness for us.
She delivered us from many curses.
She taught our parents to walk in God’s principles.
She fulfilled Isaiah 61:1-3
She was a priest, she was a king, she was a son of God
Above all, she feared God, she declared the Name of Jesus fearlessly, she loved God, and she loved people. She did not conform to the crooked ways of the world. Yes! Grandma was a faithful servant of God.
The path of Christ is the path she created for our bloodline. For our own good, and for the good of those to come, we shall not depart from this holy and beautiful path. (see Joshua 1:1-9)
WE SELAH (pause, think on these things & exalt the Name of God)
Your footsteps today determine what they (do not) have to fight tomorrow.
This is a call to live according to the legacy you want to leave for the sweet voices that will come from your bosom for generations to come. Many you’ll never meet on this earth, yet, your footsteps today determine what they (do not) have to fight tomorrow. Your life is a seed that will determine the fruits they enjoy tomorrow. Are you leaving behind a story that will lead your children wayward into the hands of darkness or are you clearing the way for them to be an extension of the testimony of your personal walk with God?
For this song I hear to become a reality, the words written above must be the life I live. I would be foolish to live a reckless life and expect my posterity to think and speak highly of me when I am long gone.
The life we live today must aim to preserve the next generations into a path of eternal life. The greatest treasure and inheritance we can leave behind is that which is unseen and eternal. So my question for you, future (great, great+) grandma and grandpa, what song will your seeds sing for you when your time on earth is done? Remember, you get to write the lyrics with the life you live.

WE SELAH (pause, think on these things & exalt the Name of God)
“But if you refuse to serve the LORD, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15
Don't wait for tomorrow, begin to live a life that will benefit your future generations TODAY!
